Millions of people are using webmail to communicate with one another. A webmail is a platform that can be accessed when there is a router or a modem with fully functional internet alongside the PC or laptop. Back in the day, there were just MS Outlook as an email service for the people, but with time, things have changed, and new webmail services have sprouted such as Gmail, Yahoo!, AOL, RoadRunner, SBCGlobal and more. These webmail platforms have allowed us to easily communicate with our friends, relatives and business associates in an easier manner. All webmail services work well with all the browsers, but in the recent times, people have encountered problems while using their webmail accounts on the Internet Explorer. Every time they open their accounts, Internet Explorer either hangs or crashes.
There could be a number of reasons behind the occurrence of this problem, such as incorrect date and time settings on your computer or laptop, or a faulty internet connection and so on. So, if you want to start the process of finding a solution to this problem, then the first thing that you will have to do is, check the date and time settings. Make sure that they are correct, and if they are not, then correct them. If you don’t know how to check date and time on the PC, then follow the below mentioned steps.
- Press ‘Windows’ key on the keyboard and go to control panel. In the panel, you will see ‘date and time’ option. So, click on this option using your mouse.
- Click ‘change date and time’ option.
- You will have to set the right date and time in date and time settings dialog box.
- Once you do so, click OK a couple of times.
If you find that the date and time are correct already, then the problem could have risen due to the incompatible or defective add-ons that you have installed on your Internet Explorer. Sometimes, add-ons do interfere with the websites, causing the sites to open improperly. On many occasions, people would see ‘server not found’ or ’401 forbidden’. You can try one more method, i.e., turn these add-ons off because by turning them off, you can make certain websites work. If you are looking for a way to disable all the add-ons that are incompatible with Internet Explorer, then you have to run an add-on for that, which is ‘Fix it’. This add-on will automatically disable all the add-ons, which are not compatible with your Internet Explorer. When you are asked whether you would like to run or save the file, then you should select ‘run’ and then, follow the steps that you see in the wizard.
On most occasions, ‘Fix it’ is going to fix the issue, but if it doesn’t, then you will have to change the options in your Internet Explorer.
If you are afraid that the change in settings might do further damages, then I would like to mention that, you can always reset the settings of Internet Explorer to its original settings. There is a provision that allows you to reset the settings automatically, so in order to do so, you have to run the reset internet explorer settings on ‘Fix it’ add-on. At the time when you are asked whether you wish to save the file or run it, then click on ‘Run’ followed by going through the steps shown in the wizard.
