There are numerous ways of receiving emails on your Samsung mobile phone, with the most common being the default email app. However, if the default app to receive emails on your Samsung mobile doesn’t excite you and you would like to use Gmail instead? Perfect! Then, to begin with, download and install the Gmail app on your device (if it is not already pre-installed) by visiting the relevant section of the Play Store and tapping the Install button.
Then, start the app by clicking on the Open button that appeared on the screen or by selecting its icon (the one with the Gmail logo) that has just been added to the drawer (the Android screen where all the applications are grouped).
Next, you’ll find yourself in front of the Gmail Main screen with the inbox on the Google account you signed in to on your Samsung device. To open the received messages, simply press on them.
To view the other folders of your account and the various sections of Gmail, instead, you tap on the button with the horizontal lines located at the top left, so as to recall the relative menu.
From the same menu, you can also manage the currently configured Gmail account, by tapping on the Settings item, selecting the account from the new screen displayed and acting on the various items available relating to synchronization, download attachments, etc.
If you want to use a different Gmail account or if you want to configure the app with another e-mail service (not everyone knows it, but Gmail allows it!), Press the button with the horizontal lines at the top left of the screen, select the Settings item from the menu that opens and then press Add account
Afterward, select the logo of the e-mail service of your interest to proceed with the automatic configuration of the same, simply going to enter your e-mail address and password.
If, on the other hand, you want to do the manual configuration or if your email account is not included in the list of supported services, you will have to tap on the ‘Other’ option followed by typing the account in the appropriate field and then, tap on the item configuration. Located at the bottom left, choose the type of account (POP3, IMAP or Exchange) and then, enter the password along with providing additional data that is requested about the incoming mail server, the one for outgoing mail, etc.
In case, you are using any other email service through your Gmail account, then you can access that as well without any issue. Let’s say, you are using SBCGlobal email, so you can easily access this email account if it is properly configured with your Gmail.
