Many email apps support Open Authentication or OAuth technology, which keeps your email and password encrypted. But some email apps, including Outlook, do not support this technology. And thus, one can use Secure Mail Key to keep their User ID and Password safe for the apps that do not support OAuth technology.
The following is the list of apps that supports OAuth technology:
- Apple Mail, Outlook mobile, and Yahoo mail app (on iPhones, iPad with IOS 9.0 and above)
- Gmail, Outlook mobile, and Yahoo mail app ( for android devices with Android 5.0 and above)
- Apple mail (for MACs with OS10.11/EI captain and above)
- Windows mails (For PCs with Windows 10)
So if you are using the desktop version of Outlook, you need to get a Secure Mail Key.
